A broken water main washed out the soil underneath an area of the foundation of this industrial facility on Front Street in Kansas City.

After the water main break, the customer had an engineer assess the damage. The engineer concluded that there was no structural issue, but the excessive water had created a void underneath the slab floor that should be filled. The engineer recommended either a mix of cement and topsoil (mudjacking) or polyurethane foam (polyjacking) to fill the void.
The customer was thrilled with the efficiency and professionalism of the crew and glad he didn’t call anyone else.
The customer selected mudjacking because there was no benefit of one process over the other for this particular project; also, the cost of mudjacking is typically 25% to 50% less than polyjacking. The job was difficult because it had to take place during the day while all of the factory’s equipment was running and the loading dock was in use. Master Mudjackers therefore had to access the area through a window. Since Master Mudjackers can pump the material up to 300 feet, the poor access was only a minor setback. The crew also was able to avoid any blowouts (which could have sprayed cement and mud all over expensive machinery) thanks to our low-pressure injection process.
